Fruity Flavors, Ring Out!

The Aricha washing station sits in the Yirgacheffe woreda in Gedeo zone, serving Idido and surrounding villages. The reputation of this area for producing spectacular coffee precedes itself: coffees from here are known for bright citric acidity and intense florality. Faysel Yonis is credited with reviving this aging washing station four years ago, and has since put together some of Ethiopia's top-scoring lots.

A Legendary Harvest

At least 750 smallholder coffee producers bring their harvests to the Aricha washing station, from the famed Idido Village and neighboring villages Gersie and Molicha. These producers grow a variety of native landrace coffee plants at 1850–2200masl along the eastern slope of the Great Rift Valley, considered to be among the most legendary places to grow coffee in the world.
