About Ethiopia Danche

Worka Chelbessa, where the small area of Danche is located, has been heralded in recent decades for the spectacular coffees coming out of this region. It's here that Negusse Debela founded SNAP Specialty with the focus on supporting the area's cooperatives. In 2019 he purchased a washing station in Danche, where beautiful coffees—both washed like this, and natural processes—are the order of the day.

Got to Gedeb

Gedeb, the district that includes Worka Chelbessa, is the southernmost woreda of the Gedeo Zone, and in comparison to other areas of Yirgacheffe, coffee is somewhat newer to this area. Many farms here have only been growing coffee for one or two generations, the coffee only a few decades old. Farms here are relatively small—averaging around 1.5–2 hectares. Coffees brought to Danche are grown at over 1,900 meters, accentuating the bright, citric, fruity qualities these coffees are celebrated for.
