About Ethiopia Hartume

METAD is a family-owned business we often work with directly to source special coffees from smallholder farmers in Ethiopia. Beyond facilitating agricultural training, innovation, and business resources for farmers, METAD (whose workforce is over 70% women) has had a tremendous social impact, providing educational opportunities like university scholarships and sponsoring a state-of-the-art elementary school, healthcare for employees, and partnering with Grounds For Health to provide cervical cancer screening.

GGET Coffee Geography

I can feel your Halo

Halo Hartume falls within the greater Yirgacheffe region, nestled in a highland plateau between Gedeb and Kochere, an area acclaimed worldwide for its terroir. This particular coffee from an independent washing station lives up to the reputation: it's abundantly floral on the nose, and sweet and brisk in the cup, with layered flavors of plum and date, a lightly viscous texture, and a light herbaceousness.
