La Esperanza, Guatemala

This is our last year serving La Esperanza as our friend and producer Josue Morales makes way for new coffee plants on his groundbreaking research farm. Expect a rich and sweet cup with flavors of roasted carrot and apple.

About La Esperanza

We've been visiting Josue Morales and Carolina Franco at their Antigua research farm, La Esperanza, since we first began sourcing green coffee. This year’s release is bittersweet, as we’ll be serving La Esperanza for the very last time. As the majority of their farm is dedicated to education and research, the land where our coffee is grown is being cleared to make way for a new crop of research coffee plants. Josue and Carolina are at the forefront of soil health and nutrition management, making La Esperanza one of the most advanced coffee farms in the world (not to mention fully organic.) This coffee is the culmination of Morales' love for both experimental agriculture and traditional Antiguan processing and is a fitting swan song until their next delicious lot.
