Fruity, vibrant East African coffees are sought-after gems in the coffee world, and this lot is a credit to the Kanzu washing station in Rwanda's Western Province. Located in the Nyamasheke district in a biodiverse vista of cassava, bananas, sugar cane, coffee, and more, Kanzu is known for its thoughtful processing and delicious coffee output. This includes improvements that make "Rwandan potato defect" largely a thing of the past. Coffee here is dry fermented before full mucilage removal (enhancing fruit notes) before soaking and drying on raised beds. Wastewater is treated with Effective Microorganisms for clean return to downstream communities, just one of the many ways this special mill operates in harmony with its landscape.
