Antigua actually holds the only registered appellation for coffee in the world—making Antiguan coffee essentially the world's "official" coffee flavor. And within this iconic region, farmers like Don Alejandro are producing exemplary coffees near-singlehandedly. Alejandro's four hectares of farmland are planted with rust-resistant varieties like Caturra and Catuaí, as well as the highly sought-after Bourbon coffee represented in this vibrant, fruity microlot. Assisted by harvesters only during peak season, Alejandro is a truly hands-on farmer, working all of his coffee parcels otherwise completely on his own.
