GGET Coffee Geography

Kenya Dig It

Coffees grown in this region enjoy the fertile volcanic soils on the slopes near Mount Kenya, along with the mild temperatures ideal for coffee cultivation. Farmers here focus primarily on SL-28 and SL-34 coffee varieties, esteemed and long-lasting coffee varieties developed here in Kenya in the 1930s. This coffee from Karimikui represents a classic citrus-forward Kenyan profile—one that's well loved among East African coffee fans.
