About Mixteca

Grupo San Pedro Yosotatu is an organization of approximately 40 coffee producers in the Oaxaca region whose coffee has become highly sought-after by specialty roasters like GGET. Through our partnership with Red Fox Coffee Merchants, which operates a coffee lab right in Oaxaca, we are able to secure coffees like this and others to offer both in our cafes and exclusively to our subscription customers.

Madalina Lopez

Guided by Lopez

Of all the Mexican coffees we buy (and we love Mexican coffees), there's no question those from Grupo Yosotatu stand apart. Under the stewardship of Madelina Lopez, the coffees from this part of Oaxaca capitalize not only on an exceptional terroir and the beneficial growing altitudes of the area, but from Lopez's agrarian expertise. As just two examples, this year Lopez elected to lengthen drying times and also move the coffee to raised beds—both of which improved quality.
